About The Pikes Peak Learning Company: the importance of success in education, jobs, and LIFE

True Life

Young people have always lacked basic skills. Most of us struggled and learned the hard way. But today, the traditional safety nets like welfare, bankruptcy, unions, lifetime work, and pensions are disappearing. To prepare our youth for this changing, challenging world, we developed Peak Mastery.

Our Team and Partners

Everyone has the right to benefit from the prosperity and opportunity this great country offers. Everyone has the right to own a home, find and keep a meaningful job, graduate from high school, pursue continuing education, stay out (or get out) of debt, develop a sense of purpose and mission for their lives, discover their interests and assets, develop skill and confidence to make effective choices, and have access to resources and learning that adapt to their individual needs. The mission of the Pikes Peak Learning Company is to provide youth and adults with these opportunities via effective, adaptable, and meaningful interactive learning systems for personal development.

Our world today is complex and changing rapidly. Young people, including those in school or already in the workforce, have many more options. There’s more competition for fewer opportunities, and the consequences for getting it wrong are more severe. The working world is more technically challenging, and as the complexity and risks have increased, the expertise and resources to prepare young people have diminished.

Teens and young families need better skills, knowledge, and motivation to succeed. They need a sense of direction for their lives and insight into where they can make a meaningful contribution. They need to be equipped to make right choices and have compelling alternatives to at-risk behaviors. They need the ability to set financial goals, live within a budget, and effectively manage their affairs.

Without this competence and confidence in achieving basic independence, life can become too challenging, frustrating, and even desperate. The impact on individuals, families, and communities everywhere is dramatic, with this disenfranchisement and lack of future vision contributing to rising drop out rates, increasing debt, marital conflict, and ultimately, a host of problems for today’s youth and families.

Many schools are beginning to offer real-world readiness skills, but large gaps remain. In addition, parents struggle to help their children with these skills, often because they lack these same skills themselves. And in many cases, young people – because of their very nature – will not listen to adults, even if those adults have the skills and resources. Our youth demand their own voice, their own power, and the right to make their own choices.

We must inspire them, motivate them, guide them, and support them. This is our Mission.

How Does Peak Mastery Work?

We are are professional educators, entrepreneurs, and parents, located in Colorado Springs. We are dedicated to inspiring, motivating, and empowering young people for success in the real world. The following model describes how we integrate the best curriculum, assessments, and instructional methods to reach students nationwide.

Maximize Your Educational Investment:

How much have you invested in curriculum, staffing, technology, materials, and facilities? Who is all that for? If you're not investing in students' commitment to themselves, are you getting the most from all those other investments?

Why we do this...

A man was out for his morning walk along a vast beach. On this morning, countless starfish had washed up on the sand. In the distance, he saw a young woman, who appeared to be dancing. As he got closer, he realized she was picking up the starfish and throwing them out to sea. As he came up to her, he stopped and asked, "Why are you throwing the starfish into the ocean?"

She replied, "The sun is up and the tide is going out. If I don't throw them back, they'll die."

"But there are miles of beach and thousands of starfish. You can't possibly make a difference!"

So she picked up a starfish, threw it into the surf, and said, "It made a difference to that one."
